| Abstract | To ensure a smooth transition, civil servants are being offered appropriate training to prepare them to work effectively in the future Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The programme consists of two areas - China studies and Chinese language training. The emphasis of China studies is to cultivate and disseminate knowledge about the social, economic and administrative systems of China through courses held in China or Hong Kong, and through visits to institutes in China. |
