Abstract | Fung Hon-man, 82, joined the Education Department in October 1946 and taught in the then newly-established Rural Teacher Training College (RTC). He has retired from the civil service for 27 years. Now, he is also an expert in the martial arts of tai chi and qigong and often teaches morning exercise classes. He has also written books on these disciplines. To many people, qigong is something quite mysterious. But he has adopted a scientific approach. He explains that qigong just a form of breathing exercise. It teaches people how to breathe out bad air and take in fresh air. The purpose of the exercise is to maintain good health and hence sustain a longer life. |
