| Abstract | Chairing the first charity ball to be held at Government House, Kathy Chiu, a fund-raiser, career woman and lover of life, was seated next to Chris Patten. Chiu said that she was afraid that one day she would wake up and realise that half of her life had gone and she hadn't done the things she wanted to do. So, she decided to become her own person.
