| Abstract | China National Silk Import & Export Corporation, reports to the International Silk Association that the growth of China's economy in 1995 created favourable conditions for the development of the silk industry. As Western economies are picking up momentum, there are indications that the world silk market is also slowly recovering. Improvement has also occurred in China's silk exports. In 1995 the total export value of China's silk products amounted to US$2,600 million. |
