| Abstract | Changshu county is a major textile industrial region of Jiangsu province in China. In 1995, despite strenuous efforts, 55% of the state-run textile enterprises across the country making losses, the Changshu industry had to report a combined loss of 17 million Yuan. The Changshu Texile Bureau points to three factors weakening the competitive ability of the local textile plants in this article. |
