| Abstract | Silk cocoons are an important agricultural product of China, and silk goods production is an important industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Shandong provinces. Since 1992, as a consequence of economic reform, the centrally controlled market for cocoons and silk textiles started to disintegrate. All provinces and regions except Shandong have now given up the central control system on the purchase and sale of cocoons and silk goods. |
