AbstractPupils who take arts subjects at certificate level dislike or have lost interest in science because they consider it too academic. In order to arouse the interests of these students, the curriculum should be more related to their daily lives, and more concerned with applications rather than abstract ideas and academic content. The ideas and methods used in the SATIS project could be adapted in the new curriculum. The approach is to use daily examples and experiences as a starting point, from which various skills, science knowledge and processes are developed.
