AbstractInner Mongolia is by far the biggest sheep-raising and the biggest wool-producing region, and its famous Diamond Grade Fibre goats yield the world-famous cashmere wool. It is also the biggest wool collection and distribution centre in China, selling annually over 200,000 tonnes of raw wool to all parts of the country. In 1993, Inner Mongolia's woollen textile exports reached $48,170,000 worth, representing 7.4% of the national total.
