AbstractThis article is written in response to the growth of school guidance and counselling. It critically discusses the proposal that teachers and educators can be trained in interpersonal skills and argues that the strength of such training is that these skills directly affect pupils' performance. Brief suggestions about developing the attitudes and skills in teachers enabling them to utilize interpersonal skills are presented.
