| Abstract | City-making has been developing at so rapid a pace that it is hard for even the official press to keep track. Minister of Construction Hou Jie told 300 women mayors who met in Shanghai on October 9 that 50 new cities had been made in 1994. The official Economic Daily reported 53 such developments on September 18. Anyway, there have been some 50 more cities so far 1994. |
