AbstractThe development of international markets provides companies with the opportunity to make significant savings by installing shared support centres which centralise finance, logistics and distribution operations. Among the leading proponents of this change are many US-owned companies whose parents are trying to attain similar savings in Europe to those achieved through centralisation and consolidation in the US. The logical question for Hong Kong investors in Europe to ask now is whether a similar approach can be adopted for sales, marketing and customer service activities. The article looks at the ability of suppliers to provide with the system solution, based on a survey conducted by Price Waterhouse.
