| Abstract | Not only will the EC's Single Market come into being in 1993, but so also will the wider European Economic Area (EEA). This is a closer alignment of the EC and the EFTA countries (Austria, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein). However, as regards moving goods between EFTA and the EC countries, very little is expected to change and there may not be a major impact on Hong Kong exporters or their competitors, although certain changes are expected in respect of textiles. |
