| Abstract | A new drama is being played out in Asia, to considerable applause from an international audience. However there is a need to respond to the wider stage and the new players. A large amount of Asian savings are placed outside the region and then reinvested here, rather than being intermediated in our own markets. Recent meetings between Asian central banks have taken the first steps towards the co-operation that may change this. |
