Abstract | Most manufacturers (386 firms or 73.1%) did not sell their products in China. For those 142 firms with domestic sales, as many as 72 firms (50.7%) sold less than 20% of their products in the China market. Problems encountered in the China market included high tax rates, tariffs and other surcharges, insufficient market information, and insufficient promotional channels. However, manufacturers predicted sales in China to grow by an average of 17.7%. |
