| Abstract | The Securities and Futures Commission ("SFC") and the British Columbia Securities Commission ("BCSC") of Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Regulatory Cooperation in Vancouver on 22 February 1996. The purpose of the Memorandum is to enhance the protection of investors and to promote the integrity of the financial markets of Hong Kong and British Columbia by providing a framework for mutual assistance and the exchange of information to the extent permitted by the laws and practices of the respective jurisdictions. |
