AbstractThe Securities and Futures Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission in Taipei ("SEC") signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Regulatory Cooperation in Tokyo on 7 February 1996. The Memorandum was entered into by the two Commissions as regulators in the securities and futures markets. The purpose of the memorandum is to enhance the protection of investors and to promote the integrity of the securities and futures markets by providing a framework for mutual assistance and the exchange of information to the extent permitted by the laws and practices of the respective markets.
