| Abstract | The Chevening Scholarship Scheme provides the opportunity for leading Hong Kong postgraduate students and young professionals to develop their academic and management skills at major British universities and colleges. The scheme in Hong Kong, which was recently launched by the Foreign Secretary, Mr Malcolm Rifkind, is part of a global programme, funded by the foreign and Commonwealth Office, which provides around 3,000 scholarships annually. In China, for example, Chevening Scholarships provide opportunities for approximately 80 Chinese students to study in the UK each year. |
