| Abstract | China was again hard at work on the diplomatic front, receiving several visiting overseas dignitaries from Ukraine, Lithuania, Ghana and Brazil while the chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Li Ruihuan, has embarked on a five-nation tour of Southeast Asia. The series of diplomatic moves came amid a major conference on the foreign policy thoughts of elderly statesman Deng Xiaoping, in which Jiang made the principal speech. |
