| Abstract | Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, and one of the richest men in the world, Bill Gates, made his first official visit to Hongkong in December 1995. The visit coincided with the launch of Microsoft Chinese Window 95. While in the Territory, Gates addressed Hongkong's leading business managers at two charity functions and also spoke to university and secondary school students. The proceeds from the events are to be donated to leading Hongkong University to pursue Internet-based applied research projects. Microsoft Hongkong Ltd. will also be making a separate donation in celebration of the visit which will also go to University projects. |
