Abstract | In the past decade, Hong Kong's main employment sector, manufacturing, has plummeted. This has been brought about by manufacturers like Innovative International (Holdings) Limited who relocated their production facilities enmasse, north of the border into China to benefit from cheaper labour costs, land costs and minimal taxes, allowing them to maximise profits while blurring the economic distinctions between Hongkong and the rest of southern Guangdong province. |
