| Abstract | In July 1995, the Council of Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) approved the establishement of two Areas of Excellence (AOE) on campus at an initial funding of HK$10 million each. This is a totally new idea and more AOEs will be established in the future. The University's Department of Accountancy has been chosen to host one of the two AOEs in this initial exercise. |
