| Abstract | Viral hepatitis A is endemic in Hong Kong. Outbreaks of acute hepatitis A follow a seasonal pattern in late winter and early spring and peak in March and April. The successful development of an effective and safe vaccine opens up an entirely new avenue in the control of hepatitis A. This update will address some of the clinical problems relating to hepatitis A and focus on the indication for active immunisation. |
