| Abstract | A questionnaire on teachers' attitudes toward the use of English and the medium of instruction, and on their English proficiency was given to three groups of new English language teachers. There was also an open-ended question in the survey and samples of writing were collected. The content was analysed to reveal what teachers considered to be ideal in a Hong Kong classroom. The writing was also analysed for linguistic performance by concordancing. |
