| Abstract | Although the incidence of alcoholism in pregnant women in Hong Kong is extremely low and only one case of fatal alcohol syndrome had been reported so far, we must maintain our awareness of the condition as the syndrome is entirely preventable. Those patients who are in the two extremes of social class, who had past psychiatric illness or depression and those who are heavy smokers or drug abusers are at higher risk of alcohol abuse during pregnancy. |
