| Abstract | Marriage counselling in Hong Kong is increasingly concerned with the traumatic effect of extramarital affairs on marriage. This article proposes a framework for assessing the diverse patterns of affairs. It suggests that an understanding of the type of affair that is affecting a marriage enables the counsellor to identify the issues in the marriage that needs attention. Counselling then focuses on the specific marital issues shaken up by the affair. |
