| Abstract | Two hundred and fifty-nine pregnant women were assessed for their knowledge and attitude towards human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. The study showed the misconception and the lack of knowledge in pregnant women and the need for more education during the antenatal period. In the light of these results, further study into the desirability of universal HIV antibody testing during pregnancy may be indicated. |
