| Abstract | In January 2000, the Department of Health (DH) was notified of a number of suspected rubella cases among staff of the Immigration Department (ImmD). Initial investigation revealed that half of the victims had attended a training course in the Immigration Service Training School in Tuen Mun from late November 1999 to late January 2000. The article features that case definition for rubella was adopted to facilitate the investigation of the outbreak and the control measures. |
