| Abstract | The article illustrates the newbuildings ordered at Chinese shipyards in the first half of 2000 totalled 3.27 million dwt, twice the volume of orders placed in the corresponding period in 1999. According to statistics compiled by Braemar Shipbrokers, United Kingdom (UK), the value of orders also doubled to reach some US$1.7 billion. |
