Article TitleFalling income in a growing economy / Ian K. Perkin.
Is Part OfHong Kong business ; v.17, no.216, Jun 2000, p.48-49, illus.
AbstractIan K. Perkin, Chief Economist at The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, points out in the article that Hong Kong's current population growth, at 1.1 percent, in itself, is not alarming. But the context in which it happens makes the figure an awfully unwelcome one for it has resulted in lacklustre income and prosperity for the Special Administrative Region (SAR) residents despite overall improvement of the economy.
