| Abstract | The pace of Y2K prevention in Asia has lagged that of companies and governments in the United States and Europe as a result of complacency, smaller information and technology (IT) budgets and preoccupation with the regional economic crisis. The article features the situations of Y2K in Asia, and Hong Kong and China in particular, and how the sectors including telecoms, utilities, transport-related companies, low-tech companies, could be affected. |
