| Abstract | Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system is one of the world's most highly utilized metro systems. Its performance in safety, quality and reliability has been at an enviable level. The MTR Corporation is proud to be among the few urban subways that do not rely on government subsidy to realize an operating profit, and is able to support further network extension through the return from its revenue and property development. The MTR Corporation is one of the overall winner of the 1998 Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) Quality Award. |
