| Abstract | China's four major backbone networks of the Internet are ChinaNet, CSTNET, CERNET and ChinaGBN. Beijing node of ChinaNet was launched and opened to the outside world by China Telecom in May 1995. Backbone layer and access layer of the Beijing node will be expanded again and upgraded to develop Internet service and domestic enquiry service. The first phase of expansion completed at the end of 1997. The second phase is underway at present. The article features the structure and capability of ChinaNet Beijing node, introduces its access network functions, outlines its services offered and predicts the future development of the node. |
