AbstractThe article features that China produces up to 100,000 carats of rough diamonds annually which are mainly exported. According to Philip Dobbs, De Beers' representative for China, the overall annual production of rough diamonds in China is estimated at between 50,000 carats and 100,000 carats and major diamond mining areas in China include the Wafangdian mine in Liaoning Province, a mine in Hunan Province, and Mengyin mine in Shandong Province.
