AbstractCathay Pacific exceeded its target of 20,000 passengers by four times when its "Super Offer" promotion ended on November 28, 1997, with 80,000 people booked to travel to Hong Kong between January 1 and February 15, 1998. The success has prompted Taiwan's two airlines - China Airlines and EVA Airways - to come up with similar promotions to boost sales on the sluggish Taiwan-Hong Kong route.
