| Abstract | Demand for polished goods remains low in Southeast Asia as major markets, including Indonesia, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia, are still far from recovering from the financial turmoil which started in the second half of 1997. Except for polished goods meeting the market requirements in the United States (US), prices of most categories, including fancy cuts, show fluctuations. In the article, 10 leading wholesalers in Hong Kong give their views on the market situation in Southeast Asia, the US and Europe. |
