| Abstract | Gold Demand Trends published by the World Gold Council (WGC) shows that gold demand has increased in Asia despite economic problems in the region. Consumption increased in China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam in 1997. Countries which recorded a decrease are Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand, the report said. |
