| Abstract | The Hong Kong dollar has provided stability and business confidence, but it has also made Hong Kong uncompetitive while other Asian currencies are plunging. In Country Forecast: Hong Kong, The Economist Intelligence Unit predicts that Hong Kong will unpeg its dollar, probable late in 1999. The article analyses the effects of the peg. |
