AbstractThe paper attempts to review the significant works of Professor Hans Eysenck in the Chinese community. His academic writings in both books and journal articles have a tremendous influence on the psychological thinking of many Chinese scholars and practitioners in the fields of both education and psychology. His two versions (Junior and Adult) of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) have been standardized for the Chinese population and widely used in educational, industry, and particularly clinical and medical fields. Also, his Reaction Times experiments have opened up a new channel for assessing intelligence without the effect of environments. His cross-cultural research has provided an insight into the understanding of cultural differences, if any, among different cultures and particularly between the West (mainly British) and the East (mainly Chinese). Thus, Professor Eysenck has made an important impact on the development of psychology in the Chinese community on both the cognitive and conative fronts. His life and human approach are also described briefly.
