| Abstract | A total of 297 young Hong Kong Chinese aged 15 to 16 years were asked to describe some of the desirable and undesirable attributes of four age groups: children (about 10 years of age), youths (about 20 years), middle-aged (about 40 years) and elderly (about 70 years) people. The descriptions, written in Chinese, were coded for language abstractness based on the linguistic category model that has been adapted for present purposes. |
