Article TitleBetter channels : supply and distribution in South-east Asia : in the wake of the economic crisis, supply and distribution chains are collapsing.
Is Part OfBusiness Asia ; v.30, no.14, 13 Jul 1998, p.3-4, illus.
AbstractThe regional economic crisis is redrawing the distribution and logistics landscape in South-east Asia. Foreign companies are finding that distribution channels must be reorganised to control costs and to protect existing investments. Many companies have found that their existing channels have collapsed. As a result, they are stepping in to prop up--or buy up-- their suppliers and distributors and consolidating and simplifying operations across the region. The economic crisis is forcing multinationals to simplify their supply and distribution strategies.
