| Abstract | Asia's currency crisis shows no sign of ending. High interest rates are biting into corporate earnings. A number of the region's banking systems are looking shaky. Some industry giants are on the verge of bankruptcy. However, Asia's world is not about to end. It has survived far more serious disasters. As for historical performance, it is the foolhardy investor -- and even more foolish chief executive officer (CEO) -- who does not bother to study the past, his own company's and that of his rivals. |
