Abstract | The threat of an oil spill of any size is seriously considered and to meet such a contingency the Hong Kong Marine Department has developed its own Oil Spill Contingency Plan and would call on its own anti-pollution devices plus those held by the oil companies at their terminals. But the oil companies themselves have taken the initiative to strengthen Hong Kong's response capabilities by setting up Hong Kong Response Limited (HKRL), presently based on Tsing Yi Island. |
