| Abstract | There is a truism in economics that both a country's long-term rate of economic growth and its wealth level are closely correlated to the structure of its economy. As economies move away from low value-added agricultural production, and towards capital-intensive and knowledge-intensive industrial and service activities, they tend to grow faster and become more wealthy. |
