Abstract | As the telecom regulator in China, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) has been able to oversee the markets by implementing favored policies in several regions in the country. The year of 1997 should be the best for the MPT. However, the MPT faces challenges from UNICOM, the national and regional CATV networks from the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television (MRFT) and keen competitions. The article gives an analysis on MPT's worries and joys in the telecom regulation market. |
