| Abstract | Zhuhai has dramatically developed from a remote fishing village into a beautiful coastal new city since China's launch of reform programme and open-door policy. During the period of the 7th Five-Year Plan (1986-1990), Zhuhai introduced advanced equipment from abroad for accelerating the construction of a telecom network, and succeeded in making major improvement in communications capability, technology and equipment. This paper concludes Zhuhai telecom achievements during the 8th Five-Year Plan (1991-1995) and predicts the development targets for the Project '97 and the 9th Five-Year Plan (1996-2000). |
