| Abstract | Completely new business opportunities have arisen because of the convergence of several trends: the development of the Internet as an universal network; the adoption of Internet-based protocols as industry standards and the development of Internet-based hardware, software and telecommunications products; and the development of the browser as a standard user interface. These have created new opportunities for the development of networked business applications both inside the enterprise and extending outside to incorporate customers and suppliers and have as a result created new opportunities for Hong Kong's software industry. |
