| Abstract | The Hong Kong port's container throughput growth rate is heading for a rebound in 1997, as the first-half year's statistics point out. For the Kwai Chung terminals, container throughput registered a 12.8% year-on-year growth rate for January-June 1997. For the terminals, midstream and river trade, a cumulative total of 9% year-on-year growth was recorded for January-May. Chan Wing Kee provides some suggestions on what Hong Kong should do to meet this additional demand. |
