| Abstract | Tianjin occupies the region between Beijing and the sea - Bohai Bay. With the capital to the northwest, Hebei Province lies to its north, west and south. Along with Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, it is one of China's four municipalities directly under the control of the Central Government. It is also one of China's 14 open coastal cities. This article gives a profile of the city. |
