| Abstract | Despite the fact that most foreign investors continue to favour investing in the coastal cities of eastern China, many inland cities are experiencing considerable growth. Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, is poised to become the regional economic and financial centre of southwest China. This comes as a result of moves by the Chinese Government to balance the economic development between the eastern and western regions of the country. |
