Abstract | In 1850s, the Grande Dame de la Champagne had taken Russia by storm. Today, Veuve Clicquot is still plying champagne throughout Europe, but is casting its net wider towards the Far East, including Hong Kong and China. In 1995, Hong Kong imported 39,000 bottles of Veuve Clicquot through its agent Caldbecks Inchcape Marketing, which represents ten per cent of market share against other champagne houses. |
